Walk 4 Water 2016

It’s time to put on your walking shoes and Walk 4 Water.
Saturday, September 10, 2016 is the date for the Second Annual Walk 4 Water to benefit Santa Cruz al Salvador in its work with the community of El Pilar to protect the cleanliness of their water. Last year Walk 4 Water raised more than $10,000 to bring a well to El Pilar, a community in rural El Salvador. Through discussions with the people of this community, we learned that the next step in their need to have clean water is to help them build composting toilets. According to inhabitat.com, 40% of the people in the world do not have access to toilets; this includes the 81 families of the El Pilar region of the Department of La Libertad in El Salvador. This year we want to raise $15,000 to build composting toilets for as many of these families as possible and train the people in their use and maintenance.
