Youth Delegation Overview
Santa Cruz al Salvador is excited to announce a summer 2013 youth delegation!
This will be the first time we have organized a youth-focused trip designed for 13-16 youth who are fourteen to nineteen years old and 5-8 adult chaperones. It includes:- all meals, entrance fees, and transportation, including airfare
- bilingual adult chaperones, guides, and translators from the U.S. and El Salvador
- 18-20 hours of conversational Spanish instruction, with opportunities to use language in authentic settings
- experiences of daily life in a developing country through home-stays
- visits to rural communities to work and meet with youth and community leaders
- 30-35 hours of service work
- learning about Salvadoran history and culture
- meeting Salvadoran diplomats and dignitaries
- visits to historical and cultural sites
- daily devotions and reflections
- weekly worship
- handicraft workshops
- opportunities to make friends with local youth
- total cost includes airfare
